Sep 01, 2016  We all face some difficult choices when deciding who to give the hard to obtain raid exclusive gear. For me, QGJ, Daka, RG and Yoda all need the Droid Caller. I don't have it yet, but will be spending my guild currency (now around 3,900) to acquire.

One of the biggest trials that casual guilds face is that some players don’t have teams strong enough to win the heroic raids. New guilds may struggle with getting enough players high enough to take on the rancor. Guilds that may be more established may still struggle with completing the AAT on heroic. So what’s the best way for guilds to build their players’ rosters and make it so they can beat the raids on heroic? I have a three part idea on how members can improve guild can build HATT Raid capable teams and increase their guild’s chances to beat heroic raids consistently.

This SWGOH raid guide is not on how to beat each phase of each raid. This guide will focus on how guilds can get their players ready to beat the heroic raids every time.

A guild is only as strong as their weakest players. If your guild is like mine, then your members are divided. You probably have some players who have invested financially and others who haven’t spent a dime. Obviously, pay-to-play players are going to have better team constructs than free-to-play players.

Free-to-play players often can’t compete against the more developed teams of the pay-to-play during the raids. This means it takes them longer to build raid capable teams. Which then takes the guild longer to beat higher level raids.

Online

So to be able to beat high-level raids, you either have to have a handful of players who can carry the whole guild, or you have to have each player in the guild be able to carry their own weight. Or some combination of the two would work as well.

My idea, the player snowball, allows a guild to help their lowest performing members to develop at least one solid damage-dealing team for the higher level raids.

My idea is essential a rip off of the debt snowball. For those who don’t know, the debt snowball has people in debt pay off the lowest amount first. Then, take the minimum payment off that loan and add it to the next lowest amount. The process repeats until all debts are paid off. The concept works in finances and it can work in Star Wars Galaxy of Heroes.

Players who are closest to having heroic capable teams, or who already have them, take a backseat to players who need gear, credits, and shards. That is until everyone has at least one team to take into heroic raids.

Choose a Focus Team

The first thing that each player should do is choose a team to focus on. Every other character outside of that team is secondary to that player getting that team leveled, geared, and moded to its fullest potential. Players should choose a team with characters that they already have somewhat leveled. This will speed the process along. Players should also communicate with other members of the guild which team they are focuses on so as to not double up on teams other players already have functional.

You may want to consider building teams that have characters that could benefit multiple teams (Royal Guard, Teebo, Rex, etc.).

Schedule the Event

P3 Sith Raid Swgoh

Once teams are chosen, the player snowball starts off in the Rancor Raid. For kicks and giggles, let’s assume that your guild can already beat the Rancor raid on heroic. If it can’t, the process will just start at whatever level you can defeat.

The most important part of the snowball is the schedule. The two-day event is broken into three time blocks: 12/24/12.

The first 12 hours of the raid is registration time. All players are to send in one character to register the attack. The people in your guild should try and score no more than 50K in damage. Even if your character scores no damage, players can still get rewards.

After 12 hours, those players who are closest to getting their chosen team geared properly will go take precedence in the raid. This will continue for the next 24 hours. If the raid is still open after 36 hours, your heavy hitters can come in and finish off the raid.

The final 12 hours of the raid is a free-for-all. Players are to just try and beat the raid and score damage.

Damage Cap

In the final 12 hours, heavy hitters should do no more damage than the 5th highest person in the raid, or 10th if your guild has a lot of struggling players. The idea is for the people who are the closest to score the most damage and get enough opportunity for gear and guild credit to max out a team. This may mean the heaviest hitters may only send one team, and it may not be their strongest team.

Once those who are closest to building their heroic-ready teams finish them, then the next closest player to max out a team steps up to do the most damage. This process is repeated until each player has at least one team that can compete in at least one phase in the heroic tank raid.

This should allow the weakest players to do as much damage as they can, making it easier for them to create at least one solid team for the HAAT raid. It also gives them a crack at the first phase, which can be the easiest to get more damage.

Players should only spend guild credits on gear or shards that will benefit the team they are building. They should also focus their energy refreshes on the team they are trying to build. The same idea applies when asking guildmates for gear.

If you are farming shards for your team, do not farm mods. Wait until you’ve 7-stared your team and then move to mods. DON’T DIVIDE YOUR FOCUS!

As you do this with the Rancor raid, you should also be doing it with the normal tank raid and any other raid that might launch in the next few months. As you do this, those of who dominate in the tank raid and others beyond can still get some solid gear. If work towards something like this as a guild, your members can develop their teams so you can actually beat the freaking heroic raids!

Everyone wants General Kenobi. So help people get better so you can eventually get him. Now, these are just my thoughts on how teams could strategize effectively. How does your guild do it? Leave a comment in the section below and let me know.
